The Social Scholar is live…
Well, it's taken months and months of research, during which we were forced to make many trips to college towns nationwide and find the best of what's out there. It wasn't easy going to local bars, eating in local restaurants and getting a feel for the local color, but somebody had to do it.
We're very happy with how the site turned out for the official launch and we hope you agree. Hopefully it will continue to grow and develop, as we have a lot more in mind for both the near and long term future. If there's something you like, we'd love to hear about it. If there's something you hate, fire that to us as well- we promise there will be no hard feelings. Similarly, if you know of something that you think our readers might find of interest, we're more than open to receiving suggestions.
So we hope you like the site and decide to sign up for the weekly mailers, as there's a whole world out there that doesn't require waiting in line behind a velvet rope to get into; we'll lead the way.

The Social Scholar Launches…
Like the master wordsmith Huey Lewis once said, "If this is it, please let me know." Well, this is it and we're letting you know, so we hope you like what we have to offer.
We're hoping to be your end all be all source for the best in gear, apparel, nightlife, events, sports, food, drink...you name it. While we'd all like to be as well off as the creator of Itchy and Scratchy, with a solid gold house and our own rocket car, we know that most people don't care if NetJets is running a "buy one share, get one half off" special. The Social Scholar is aimed at college students and men and women in their 20's and 30's living in college towns. We're not going to be telling you which nightclub added Double Cross Vodka to their bottle service menu, but we will let you know when your local craft brewery is giving away free tours and samples, when the First Annual Power Wheels Racing Series launches, and when Patagonia.com is offering 25% off all items purchased online.
